DEMONSTRATION FLIGHT AT VICTORIAN EASTER CHAMPS
DEMONSTRATION FLIGHT AT VICTORIAN EASTER CHAMPS
2011
On Easter Monday after Goodyear had been flown at the Frankston Field, and just as 1/2A Combat was getting underway, Andrew took out his FORA 15D Jr powered Russian Classic FAI team-racer for a “demo” flight for the excited Western Australian World Championship Competitors pair of Steve Walton and Trevor Letchford.
After an initial tuning flight Andrew handed the lines over to World F2C Champion Pilot Rob Fitzgerald, while the models original Pitman “Fast Fingers” Mark Ellins looked on.
Both Steve and Trevor were very impressed by the flight, and the ease at which the FORA powered the model around for 23/10 for 40 laps without being any way edgy, and despite the fact that it wasn’t fully tuned up at any time for maximum performance.
After some considerable practice with this model the Western Australian are heading home with a promise to build some models and compete in the class now they have the bug! They also took back 9 FORA 15’s with them to WA, some for themselves and the majority to train new Pilots and Pitmen in WA to fly and compete with a very docile but competitive engine.
