R250

Rothwell R250 15 Diesel

Extremely well made Australian built 2.5cc diesel, currently dominates the Vintage A scene and quite frankly so it should.  Hand made by Steve Rothwell, each one is released only after meeting his own personal performance criteria.

Parts as readily available for them, as is a Rothwell made engine
plate and a very good functional tube crusher cut-out.

This engine performs well right out of the box, and has a proven high performance with long life.  Very robust conrod and crankshaft.

Availability: Long waiting time but well worth the wait.

Cost: Expensive engine, but you really do get what you pay for in this case.

Fora Junior 15D

This engine is a significant improvement on the Pioneer and runs very well right out of the box.  It looks the same, and I suspect that it uses the same crankshaft as the Jr. The venturi is a 3.7mm hard plastic 5 hole peripheral type and could be used as-is for racing. Run up on Timmy Tiger fuel and an APC 7x6 the engine turns a serious 17,200-17,500 RPM.  Placed in an Classic FAI model on a standard APC 7x7 the Fora powered round at 23.25/10 on a mild tune suggestion that a much better performance will be realised once the engine is run in and optimised, and this has been confirmed.

All parts are available and the engine is off the shelf for USD 100.00.  A glow plug kit is also included with the package to convert to a conventionally tapped 15 glow-plug engine.

This engine is available in Australia from Lance Smith in Melbourne, see details here : FORA Jr Availability

A Muffler is available to suit this engine, it will also fit the PARA 15D.
